We’ve probably all had enough of lockdown by now but it doesn’t look like it’s really going away any time soon so when you are stuck in the same place how do can you make it seem like a different space?
There are some simple fixes. You can declutter. Now that we are all spending so much time at home it’s a good time to take a good look at what you have got in your home and take some of it to the tip. Thornton le Dale is now open again so as long as you don’t mind queuing a bit so that social distancing still works that’s an easy way to get rid of some of your excess stuff.
Once you have decluttered how about moving your furniture around. We have talked about taking a soft furnishing theme from a focal piece so why not ramp that up and actually move the sofa into a different room and change around the space. It’s gorgeous weather so you could even move the sofa outdoors and really create an outside room in the garden.
And paint outdoors gives a really easy fix. You can paint flower pots to give your garden a really Mediterranean feel. Tidy up the shed and give it a coat of paint or if your space is small why not play around with mirrors and get a real feel of an Italian vista going. Remember, when you go to visit stately home gardens they are really only a series of garden rooms and with a bit of DIY and vision you can get a great effect at home.
And while the shop is still closed Marie is taking orders on messenger so why not get decorating and prepare for a glorious summer.
